QWERTY Case for iPhone
One of the biggest disadvantages of the iPhone versus the Blackberry or other smart-phones is the lack of a physical keyboard. Industrial designer Altamash Jiwani has drawn up a conceptual design for a QWERTY keyboard case that snaps right on to the iPhone. Yes before you go freaking out, it’s a design concept; but an intriguing one. The keyboard itself is designed to slide up and down to either cover the button on the bottom or not.

Solar Lantern
The expanding solar lantern is an interesting design that allows for a decent amount of light from a compact package. The idea is simple enough, it’s a paper lantern style lamp with a solar panel on one end. It folds up like an accordion for charging in the sun. Designed by Jesper Jonsson, the lantern collapses into a pocket size package, letting you bring a nice size lantern with you without taking up much space. A magnetic strap allows you to attach the lamp to things whether it’s in charge mode or light mode. Cool design.

Water Powered Alarm Clock
The Water Powered Digital Alarm Clock runs entirely on water- no batteries needed. Just change out the water every few weeks to keep the magic going.
It works by some sort of chemical reaction between water and metal. Or it’s a witch. Either way it looks really cool and you could put a little food coloring in there for a sweet effect. Plus it runs on freakin’ water! Like your local AM radio station, it gives you the time and temperature. The clock retains it’s memory for 2 minutes while you change the water. Buy it for $24.95 at Vat19.

BIrd Alarm Clock
I really really like the design of this bird alarm clock. It doesn’t even look like an alarm clock, it just looks like a little modern design bird sculpture for your bedside table. Most other alarm clocks make a big deal about putting the clock portion up front and making the number readable. But really when you’re sleeping there should be only two times that matter, time to go to bed and time to wake up. Sounds a chirping alarm.

Color Changing Umbrella
Color Changing Umbrella changes colors when wet. The umbrellas are printed with special ink that’s white when dry and that comes to life when in contact with water. Why would you buy a normal umbrella again?
